✉️ How to Request Deletion

Send us a deletion request and we will remove your account and its data.

What to include

1. Send it from the email address registered to the account. That is how we verify the request is yours.
2. If you signed up with Sign in with Apple and used Hide My Email, send it from that private relay address — it forwards to you and it is the address on your account.
3. A confirmation that you understand the deletion is permanent.

If we cannot match the request to an account, we will write back and ask for more information rather than guess. We will never ask you for your password.

What happens next

• We acknowledge your request within 5 business days.
• We complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying it, and confirm by email when it is done.
• The request is free. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not require a call or a chat to process it.

🧹 What Gets Deleted

Everything below is permanently removed from our systems:

• Your account — the authentication record held by our sign-in provider, including your email address, name, and password credentials
• Your profile — age, gender, height, current, starting and target weight, activity level, goal type, calorie and macro targets, units, and language
• All meal logs — descriptions, nutrition values, per-item breakdowns, meal types, and timestamps
• All activity logs — step counts, notes, mood ratings, and estimated calories burned
• All weight entries
• All water logs
• Your AI usage counters
• Your stored subscription status on our side

Deleted records may remain in encrypted backups for a short rolling window before those backups are overwritten. They are not accessible in the app or restorable to your account during that period.

📁 What We Keep, and Why

• Purchase and tax records. If you ever bought a subscription, we retain the transaction record for as long as accounting and tax law requires — typically seven years. These contain a transaction identifier and amount, not your health data.
• A record of the deletion itself. We keep a minimal note that a deletion request was made and completed, so we can demonstrate compliance. It does not include your logs.
• Records we are legally required to preserve, for example in response to a lawful order. This is rare and we would tell you where we are permitted to.

💳 Cancel Your Subscription Separately

iPhone / iPad

Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → MunchLog → Cancel Subscription. Refund requests go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

Android

Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → MunchLog → Cancel subscription.

Cancel first, then request deletion.

🔧 If You Don't Want to Delete Everything

You may not need a full deletion:

• Delete individual entries. Any meal, activity, weight entry, or water log can be removed in the app, and it is removed from our database too.
• Clear your logs but keep your account. Profile → Clear All Meal Data removes your logged meals, activities, and weight entries, and leaves your account and profile in place.
• Start over. Profile → Reset Onboarding clears your profile details and takes you back through setup. Your account stays.
• Disconnect Apple Health. Turn it off in the app, or revoke access in iOS Health → Sharing → Apps. We stop reading your steps and active energy immediately.
• Turn off reminders. In the app, or in your device's notification settings.
• Just sign out. Your data stays in your account, untouched, until you come back.
